With a build date of April 1964, this is more than likely the oldest Poppy Red Mustang D Code manual coupe in Australia. This head turner was ordered with the 4 speed manual top loader transmission, power steering, full factory console, Rally pack, AM/FM radio and heavy duty suspension. The upgrades to the vehicle are numerous. Yukon LSD rear differential with 3.25 ratio. Inertia seat belts in the front and rear, Shelby suspension including Shelby drop, Koni shocks all round, Shelby front and rear stabiliser bars, Kesley Hayes front disc brakes and upgraded rear drum brakes. New brake and fuel lines. Twist turn fuel cap with retainer. Aluminium 4 core radiator with thermo fan. The original generator has been replaced with a generator-look alternator. Intermittent windscreen wipers. Hurst white knob shifter. Sports steering wheel. Ford wash bag. Monte Carlo bar in engine bay. LED lighting throughout including the rear tail lights. Traction bars. Cragar SS chrome wheels staggered 6" front and 8" at rear. Full bare metal repaint in late 2016 in the original correct Ford Poppy Red colour. Replaced white headliner. New front windscreen. There is a large amount of provenance and an extensive file of receipts with this car.
