The next wave in boating, SmartCraft® Integrated Marine Technology from Mercury links power, controls and internal and external sensors to provide precise data on OptiMax 225 Sport XS, OptiMax 250XS and OptiMax 300XS outboards and HP525 EFI, HP600 SCi, HP700 SCi and HP1075 SCi sterndrives equipped with the state-of-the-art SmartCraft Controller Area Network (CAN) electronic control system.The system monitors a variety of vital engine functions including fuel flow, fuel range, fuel used, and RPM, along with water depth, trim angle, water pressure and battery voltage. Boat functions monitored include fuel tank levels and water and waste tank levels. SmartCraft equipped engines come standard with the Engine Guardian® system which monitors over 40 sensors for early indications of problems that could lead to engine damage. And, if a problem does occur, the system takes corrective action to reduce the risk of damage, and get the boater home safely.
