Is it possible to install the jacking point brackets on my trailer or caravan?

Indeed, nearly every caravan constructed in the last several years has a cross-member behind the axles that is sturdy enough to support the brackets, which need to be welded on. But in the last few years, most caravan builders have included the brackets that make Trail-A-Mate jacking points as standard equipment.

Is a separate jack required if I buy a Trail-A-Mate?

No, the Trail-A-Mate's dual purpose of serving as a jack and a jockey wheel reduces the need for you to bring extra equipment when you travel.

Can my six-meter caravan be lifted with Trail-A-Mate?

Yes, Trail-A-Mate can raise a caravan up to six meters to the point where, if necessary, you can replace both of its wheels on one side at simultaneously. If you must replace both wheels at once, it is advised that you use the proper vehicle support stands to support the caravan.


Yes, the working load limit of the Trail-A-Mate is 1000 kg. When utilizing the Trail-A-Mate to jack up a caravan, you are lifting roughly one-third or less of the vehicle's weight at each of the jacking points rather than the caravan's total weight. The Trail-A-MAte MkII is required if the ATM on your trailer weighs more than 2,900 kg.

Will I still need to go beneath the caravan to jack it up if I get a flat tire?

No, Trail-A-Mate is not a climbing apparatus because it is made to be used from a standing position with minimal effort, saving you from having to get underneath your van.

When completely extended, how high will my Trail-A-Mate lift reach?

When the base plate is installed, the Trail-A-Mate may raise in a single lift from as low as 6 inches (150mm) above the ground to as high as 20 inches (500mm).
