Ivory Bakelite telephone; S1/400 series circa 1950-60s, as used by the PMG in the 1950s and early 1960s for installation in offices, storerooms, shops etc. This phone is in great working condition, having been dismantled, cleaned, reassembled, adjusted and tested. The bakelite is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos and is free of any chips and cracks.Original Cotton Woven Line and Handset Cords, Not Plastic Like some.
The phone will function fully on any Telstra or Optus wire line.
When connected through the NBN the phone can receive calls, announced by the loudly ringing bells, and allow conversation. However, to dial out through the NBN using the rotary dial, a Dialgizmo (readily obtained on the internet) can easily be coupled into the phone cord.
Would suit décor of the era for any home, office, den, man/woman cave. Beautiful ringing bells are unmatched by modern ringtones.
