Spotters Artic Plus Sunglasses Gloss Black Frame CR39 Lens

The Spotters Artic Plus Sunglasses are all about eyewear protection and the sprung templates of the frame helps in boasting full peripheral vision as well as being ideal for those with higher cheek bones.
The material used in the frame of the Spotters Artic Plus is an amorphous thermoplastic. Despite being sturdy the material is very flexible and fits comfortably. These properties of this material give the frame very high flexural fatigue strength hence the frame will retain its shape without compromising the comfort.
The lenses of Spotters Artic Sunnies are polarised and are made from Columbia Resin #39 or CR39. This is a plastic polymer used in the manufacturing of some of the world’s best optical lenses. It is lighter, sturdier, has a slightly lower refractive index and has a higher Abbe number in comparison to crown glass hence it results in lesser chromatic distortion.
CR39 material is transparent to visible light but it is opaque to ultraviolet light thus it blocks-off ultraviolet radiation while allowing natural visual light to pass through.
The lenses of the Spotters Artic Plus CR39 Sunglasses can withstand temperatures as high as 130 °C for as long as an hour and it can be used continuously at a 100 °C. Besides its resistance to high temperatures the material is also highly resistant to abrasion/scratches, in fact its resistance is the highest among all uncoated optical lenses.
