Ideal for the elderly person who likes puzzles and who wants to keep their brain sharp!The Binomial Cube is a concrete representation of the algebraic formula (a + b)3. The factors of the equation are represented by cubes and prisms.
The aim of the activity is to build the cube. Once the box is opened all the pieces should be carefully removed and placed on the table beside or in front of the empty box. The two solid sides of the box will help the user to align the cubes with the corner as they rebuild the cube. Once completed the open sides can be closed and the lid can be placed on top.
It is a brain exercise that can be done alone, with friends or with a support carer helping the user.
Contained in a hinged wooden box with lid is:-
- One red cube and three red and black matching prisms.
- One blue cube and three blue and black matching prisms.
All the pieces, once assembled, form a cube of a binomial (a+b)3
The square of the binomial is painted on the lid.
