Each Sandpaper Letter is in lower case cursive with the consonants on boards painted pink and the vowels on boards painted blue. Each board has a space on the left for the user to steady it with one hand while tracing the letter with the other.
As an extension activity, when the user is ready, the letter cards can be combined to help the person to form simple familiar words.
