In automotive history the name Lotus has always been associated with the peak of performance cars, from the very beginning their cars have achieved their exceptional performance through a combination excellent power and their impressive lack of weight.

Giorgetto Giugiaro’s original design for the Esprit was restyled by Peter Stevens in 1987, for the 1988 introduction of the X180, resulting in a less angular shape than previous models, with the redesigned interior allowing more occupant room.

This lovely Midnight Blue Esprit with Magnolia leather interior was sold new on the 25th of May 1988 to Mr A.Briggs of Essex, with the original books and maintenance history showing regular servicing in the UK until May 2008, when the Esprit had travelled just 49,991 miles.

With registration documents showing full Victorian registration from 2011 onward, the Esprit has been used very sparingly, gaining just 5,350 miles in the last 16 years! A major service including, but not limited to: all fluids, cam-belt replacement, water-pump replacement, brake service, headlight motor service, wheel bearing replacement and wheel alignment has just been carried out by The Healey Factory, preparing the Lotus for your next adventure.

This Naturally Aspirated Type 85 is one of only 366 produced, featuring the factory rated 172bhp mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout and 1,310 kg weight (incl. fuel) combing to make the Esprit an exciting driving prospect while you sit in the tight hugging, leather bucket seats.
