1977 Benelli 250 Quattro
The 250 Quattro was the brain-child of Alejandro de Tomaso , owner of Moto Guzzi, and the Benelli factory. The motivation was to create a modern, small superbike that could be marketed to European countries that offered tax and insurance reductions for bikes up to 250cc i.e., France, Spain and UK. The fruit of their labours was presented at the 1975 Milan Motor Show, where two versions were offered: one the Benelli 250 Quattro, the other a Moto Guzzi 254. Whilst the same powertrain and frame, the Benelli was deliberately styled at the sports market, while true to its heritage, the Guzzi was more at touring. The bike was a huge success at its release, but customers had to endure a 2 year wait for the first production.
This partially restored example is an ultra-rare first series Quattro. In preparation for selling the previous owner undertook some cosmetic work to the frame and the engine has been inspected and serviced, and is reported as running perfectly. Presently with our Ital agent, the advertised price excludes shipping and arrival charges into .
