The Bimota KB3 inspires emotional extremes; you either love it or you hate it. Compared to the contemporary offerings from Japan of the same era, the Bimota is as comfortable as a concrete pillow, yet to fall hopelessly under the KB3's spell requires a rare combination of insanity and competence. Born of the Ital school of thought that celebrates single purpose function above all else, the KB3 has no extraneous components, just the essentials required to attain the Bimota design goal.   In designing the KB3 Bimota’s intent was crystal clear, pure unfettered speed! There can be no substitute; the KB3 is exactly what it appears to be, a Grand Prix bike with lights, well a few lights anyway. In its day, nothing short of a full-blown GP machine came close to the KB3; it demands and rewards only the highest expertise.

At their release the KB3 was described as an Uzi in a battlefield of black powder muskets. Unless you have the credentials to ride it in the way it was designed to be ridden, or had piles of money to burn, the KB3 was not for you.

Only 112 KB3’s were ever produced and most saw active duty on the racetracks of Europe and the USA. This example was first titled on 16 April 1984 in Germany and has never seen track use. With less than 20,000k’s use from new, this is a beautifully original example. For the past few years this bike has been sitting idle and will need a full service and freshen before using.
