1994 Yamaha GTS1000
In the mid 80âs French Petroleum gt, Elf, funded the pioneering development of the Elf e-type hub-centre steering and revised suspension system. By 1986, Elf racing boss Serge Rosset and rider Ron Haslam found success in Grand Prix racing with the Honda NS500 V-3 two-stroke powered ELF3. With superior braking and stability, boutique bike builder Bimota designed the Tesi, a limited production ran over 3 evolutionary models, Tesi I, II III. In 1993, Yamaha became the first Japanese manufacturer to produce a production model featuring the hub-steering alternative-suspension system, with the GTS1000.
