2007 ford focus problems

The 2007 Ford Focus is generally a tidy steer, but time can be as kind to rubber as a summer in the Outback. The good news: it dodges the later dual‑clutch drama; the bad news: age brings its own quirks. Here are the usual suspects to check before handing over your hard‑earned:

• Worn front control arm bushes/ball joints and tired shocks causing knocks or vague steering.
• Ignition coil packs and leads causing misfires, rough idle, or hard starts.
• Cooling fan control module and thermostat issues leading to overheating in traffic.
• Window regulators and door lock actuators that give up like a teenager at 7am.
• Air‑con compressor or leaks delivering “summer mode” only.
• Manual clutch wear (and dual‑mass flywheel on diesels); autos can develop harsh shifts if neglected.
• Diesel EGR/DPF clogging on short‑trip cars; look for soot, limp mode, or warning lights.

Service history is king; timing‑belt and water‑pump changes on schedule save tears later.
