2011 ford transit problems

The 2011 Ford Transit is brilliant at hauling stuff and, occasionally, your patience.

• EGR/DPF clogging on short-trip vans leading to limp mode; proper regens and regular highway runs help.
• Injectors and high-pressure fuel pump issues causing rough idle, smoke, and hard starts—watch for diesel-in-oil and misfires.
• Dual-mass flywheel and clutch wear (plus MT82 shift gremlins) showing as rattle at idle and notchy gears.
• Turbo/boost leaks or actuator faults giving flat performance and overboost/underboost codes.
• Rust and electrics: sills, door bottoms, and arches can bubble; sliding-door rollers, central locking, and earths go walkabout.

Service history is king: correct-spec oil, timely filters, and DPF-friendly runs turn a grump into a grafter.
