2015 honda cr-v problems Page 4

The 2015 Honda CR-V is generally a safe bet, but it’s not entirely saintly—more “sensible shoes with the odd squeak.”

Known trouble spots owners and mechanics in Australia often report include:

• Air-conditioning issues (leaking condensers or tired compressors leading to weak cooling).
• Front suspension bush wear causing clunks, vague steering, or uneven tyre wear.
• Infotainment glitches (frozen screens, Bluetooth dropouts, camera hiccups).
• Battery or starter niggles and early battery fade on short-trip cars.
• Door lock actuators failing intermittently.
• AWD binding/shudder on tight turns if the rear diff fluid is overdue (simple fluid change usually fixes it).
• Takata airbag recalls—non-negotiable: check the VIN status.

Most of this is fixable with proper servicing and a careful inspection; a well-documented service history is worth its weight in flat-whites.

Before buying, run a recall check with Honda Australia and get a pre-purchase inspection to avoid inheriting someone else’s “character.”
