2015 vw touareg problems Page 2

The 2015 VW Touareg is lovely to drive, but the ownership diary can have a few spicy chapters. The V6 TDI is stout, yet short-hop use tends to upset its emissions hardware. Here’s what owners and mechanics in Australia most often call out:

• DPF clogging and EGR valve/cooler issues, especially on urban-only cars, leading to warning lights and limp mode.
• SCR/AdBlue troubles: heater/pump failures or NOx sensors triggering emissions faults.
• Propshaft centre bearing wear causing driveline vibration under load.
• Air suspension leaks or tired compressors on air-equipped variants.
• Sunroof drain blockages leading to wet carpets; door lock actuators and window regulators going on strike.
• Electric parking brake module and miscellaneous sensor gremlins.

None of this is fatal if you buy well: insist on a full VW service history, a long test drive, and a pre-purchase inspection. Budget for proper diagnostics and quality parts—because cheap fixes here can get very expensive, very fast.
