2017 nissan x trail problems Page 3

The 2017 Nissan X‑Trail (T32) is roomy and friendly, but it’s not entirely drama-free.

• CVT issues: shuddering, flare, or overheating under load—look for software updates and proof of fluid changes.
• Stop/start system and auxiliary battery gremlins causing weak starts or odd warnings.
• Electric tailgate glitches and parking sensors needing recalibration.
• Diesel (1.6 dCi) DPF clogging if mostly used for short trips.
• Interior trim rattles and occasional rear suspension knocks.
• Check for outstanding recalls (including airbag-related) by VIN.

Prioritise cars with full service history, a smooth long test drive, and no CVT whine or hesitation.

A pre-purchase inspection is money well spent, and if a warranty on the transmission is offered, that’s not a bad safety net.
