2023 best ute

“Best” ute of 2023? Depends whether you’re towing a caravan, hauling gravel, or just collecting Bunnings sausages.

• Ford Ranger — Pros: sharp tech, strong towing (up to 3.5 tonnes), comfy ride; Cons: pricier trims and wait times can sting.
• Toyota HiLux — Pros: bulletproof reliability and resale; Cons: ride and power feel old-school next to newer rivals.
• Isuzu D‑MAX — Pros: excellent safety kit and value; Cons: a bit gruff and bouncy unladen.
• Volkswagen Amarok (new gen) — Pros: refined manners and punchy V6 options; Cons: higher prices and limited accessories early on.

Test-drive with your payload, GVM and towing needs in mind; consult official documentation for exact figures.
