In the 2023 Formula 1 season, Safety Car duties were shared between the Aston Martin Vantage and the Mercedes‑AMG GT Black Series.

Both are fettled for hot laps of chaos control and piloted by the unflappable Bernd Mayländer, who appears whenever drivers run out of talent or grip.

Backing them up were the Medical Cars: the Aston Martin DBX707 and the Mercedes‑AMG C 63 S Estate.

So when the yellows fly, F1 sends out some very serious machinery—decidedly not just a flashing light on a taxi.
