75 series gvm upgrade Page 3

Upgrading the GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) of your 75 Series Land Cruiser is a popular mod for those who insist on carrying more than just their dignity on off-road adventures. The stock GVM typically sits around 3,175 kg, but with a reputable upgrade kit, you can push this up to approximately 3,600 kg, sometimes more depending on your supplier and local regulations.

These upgrades usually involve beefier springs, upgraded shocks, stronger tyres, and sometimes new brake components. Prices for a decent kit can range from around $3,000 to $6,000 AUD, excluding installation. Remember, once upgraded, you must get the vehicle re-registered to reflect the new GVM, or you’ll be driving illegally and could void insurance.

Check out ServiceCentral or Tradingpost for kits and professional installers near you. Always consult official documentation and ensure your chosen upgrade complies with Australian Design Rules.
