a3 compared to a4

Comparing the Audi A3 and A4 is like choosing between a slick hatchback and a posh sedan—both pack German engineering but serve different tastes. The A3 is compact, nimble, typically with a 1.4 to 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and prices starting around $40,000 AUD new. Its smaller size makes it city-friendly but less spacious.

The A4, on the other hand, stretches out with more legroom and a more refined ride, sporting a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with output usually higher than the A3. Expect to pay upwards of $55,000 AUD new. It’s more executive but less sprightly in tight spots.

Pros of A3: cheaper, easier to park, sporty feel.
Pros of A4: more space, better ride comfort, more premium features.
