affordable driving lessons cost Page 470

In Australia, "affordable" driving lessons usually land around AUD $60–$90 per hour in metro areas, with regional rates often closer to $50–$75. Buy a bundle and the per-hour price can drop to about $45–$70, which is the closest thing to a bargain you’ll get without Aunt Karen’s coupon book. Auto often costs the same as manual, but peak-hour, weekend or pick-up-from-three-suburbs-away can nudge the bill up. Test-day packages (lesson, car hire, and instructor at the centre) typically run $150–$250 on top of your standard lesson rate. Shop around, read reviews, and make sure the instructor’s accredited; saving ten bucks is pointless if you learn habits that scare even the kangaroos.
