amarok bent chassis Page 3

Yes, Amarok bent chassis stories exist—but they’re almost always a physics lesson, not a scandal.

Big tow‑ball download, weight stacked behind the rear axle, and corrugations create a lever that can kink rails on any ute.

If you tow or tour, manage your weights and overhang and the Amarok usually stays gloriously un‑bent.

• Stay within GVM, rear‑axle load, and tow‑ball limits; weigh vehicle, axles, and ball mass at a public weighbridge.
• Keep heavy gear low and over the axle; use a weight‑distribution hitch when appropriate.
• Slow down off‑road when loaded; avoid whoops and big hits, and set tyre pressures sensibly.
• Beware long trays, big canopies, and extended tow bars that add leverage.
• After a hard hit or overload, inspect rails, mounts, and tub gaps for early signs of deformation.

Always check your owner’s manual for exact limits and scrutinise service history and repairs; many Amaroks rack up tough kays without drama.
