apple electric car project Page 9510

Apple spent nearly a decade flirting with an electric car, sometimes a full EV, sometimes just the autonomous brains, under the hush-hush Project Titan.

In 2024 it was reportedly canned, with many engineers shuffled into Apple’s generative AI efforts—no car, no preorder, just a very pricey science experiment.

They hoovered up automotive talent, trialled self-driving tech, and pivoted more times than a supermarket trolley with a bung wheel.

Bottom line: fascinating prototypes, zero showroom metal, and a reminder that even Apple can’t simply “one more thing” a car into existence.
