are used car prices dropping Page 8730

Short answer: yes—used car prices in Australia are easing from their pandemic peak as new-car supply returns and interest rates do their grumpy thing.

It’s not a cliff dive, more a slow deflate: mainstream passenger cars and ex-lease stock are softening, while tough-as-nails utes and 4x4s cling on longer.

EVs are sliding fastest thanks to new price cuts and rapid tech upgrades, with premium badges also giving a little more ground than they used to.

Bottom line: buyers have more choice and leverage; sellers need sharper pricing and tidy listings—Tradingpost makes that bit less painful.
