ato car limit 2022 Page 8817

Chasing the ATO car limit for 2022? The ATO’s car cost limit for depreciation was $60,733 for the 2021–22 income year, and it jumped to $64,741 for 2022–23.

That’s the max value (GST-inclusive, excluding rego/insurance/transfer) you can use to calculate depreciation or claim under relevant write-off rules—no matter how glittery the badge.

It doesn’t cap what you can pay for the car; it just caps what you can claim.
