australia eclipse 2023

Australia’s big sky show in 2023 was the 20 April hybrid solar eclipse, with totality centred near Exmouth, WA.

Exmouth got roughly a minute of eerie midday darkness, while most of the country saw a healthy partial—just enough to make lunch look like a moody art film.

Viewers needed proper solar glasses or filtered gear; staring at the Sun is a bad life choice no matter how brave you feel behind a barbecue apron.

Missed it? Don’t fret—there’s a whopper total solar eclipse coming on 22 July 2028, slicing across Australia and giving major cities a front-row seat.
