australian black beetle

The Australian black beetle is a notorious pest, especially for gardeners and farmers who fancy their turf and crops. It measures about 12-15 mm and is jet black, which makes it look like a tiny, glossy tank. These critters love to munch on roots and young plants, often causing wilting and patchy lawns.

Common issues include:

• Damage to turf roots causing brown patches
• Larvae feeding on plant roots
• Adult beetles feeding on leaves and stems

Control methods typically involve targeted insecticides or natural predators. For more detailed advice or to find pest control products, check out ServiceCentral or local garden centres listed on Tradingpost.
