automotive air conditioning licence

In Australia, handling automotive A/C refrigerant requires an ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL), and workshops need a Refrigerant Trading Authorisation (RTA) too.

To qualify you’ll need recognised competency (e.g., Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology or equivalent), proper recovery gear and record‑keeping that would make your accountant blush.

It’s a national licence, enforcement is real, and the fines for winging it are the opposite of fun.

Apply via the Australian Refrigeration Council, keep training current, and you can evacuate, repair and re‑gas without looking over your shoulder.
