Fit a baby capsule in Australia rear‑facing, using either the ISOFIX anchors or the seatbelt path, and always attach the top tether to the correct anchor point.
By law, babies must be rear‑facing until at least 6 months, and it’s wise to keep them that way until they outgrow the capsule per the height markers.
Set the recline to roughly 45° so bub’s head doesn’t flop forward, tighten the harness so you can’t pinch the strap, and skip bulky jackets.
Never install a rear‑facing capsule in front of an active airbag—no arguments.
If you’re unsure, book an authorised child restraint fitter (many councils and baby stores offer this) and read the capsule manual like it’s the last chocolate in the pantry.
Australian Standard AS/NZS 1754–approved restraints only; anything else can sit this ride out.
