Battery technology has evolved from the humble lead-acid to the sleek lithium-ion marvels powering everything from your phone to electric cars. Lithium-ion batteries dominate with their high energy density, light weight, and longevity, but they come at a price—both monetary and environmental. Meanwhile, solid-state batteries promise safer, faster charging and higher capacities, but they're still the stuff of sci-fi dreams for most consumers. In Australia, expect to pay around $150-$300 for a decent lithium-ion car battery replacement, with new electric vehicles boasting cutting-edge tech starting from about $50,000 AUD. For the latest and greatest, keep an eye on sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom. Remember, specs vary wildly, so always consult the official documentation before making any electrifying decisions.
