The “best” tyre pressure isn’t a one-size-fits-all hero; it’s whatever your car’s placard says—usually around 220–240 kPa (32–35 psi) for most passenger cars.
SUVs and utes often sit a touch higher, say 240–260 kPa (35–38 psi), but always check the sticker inside the driver’s door or the owner’s manual.
Measure pressures cold, before your morning coffee run, and add a little if you’re carrying big loads or doing long highway stints.
Under-inflated tyres wear fast and drink fuel; over-inflated ones skate about like they’re late for ballet.
Going off-road? Different rules apply—air down on the dirt, then reinflate for the bitumen.
