best off-road caravan in australia Page 4

Asking for the “best” off-road caravan in Australia is like asking which footy team is least annoying—spirited debate guaranteed.

Top contenders often cited by red-dirt tragics:

• Kedron: Pros—tank-like build, excellent dust sealing, big payloads; Cons—heavy and pricey, wants a proper 4x4 tow rig.
• Bushtracker: Pros—bulletproof chassis and independent suspension, strong off-grid water/solar options; Cons—serious weight and length, long lead times.
• Zone RV: Pros—lightweight composite construction, modern electrics and insulation; Cons—premium pricing and a smaller dealer footprint.

Shortlist by payload, ATM and your tow vehicle’s GCM, then crawl underneath for welds, plumbing and dust ingress—the outback will expose any fibs in minutes.
