best phev suv australia 2023 Page 374

Asking for the “best” PHEV SUV in Australia for 2023 is like asking which footy side never fumbles—depends on the day and your driveway.

• Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: Pros—usable EV range and family-friendly cabin; Cons—firm ride on big wheels and prices climb fast with trims.
• MG HS Plus EV: Pros—sharp price and generous kit; Cons—smaller boot and gets thirsty once the battery’s spent.
• Mazda CX-60 PHEV: Pros—strong performance and plush cabin; Cons—ride can be busy and options send the sticker skyward.
• Volvo XC60 Recharge: Pros—long EV range for the class and serious shove; Cons—premium pricing and servicing isn’t exactly bargain-bin.

Pick based on budget, daily range and charging access; no single winner, just different flavours of “sensible-ish”.
