best phone car mount

If you want the best phone car mount, prioritise fit and stability over gimmicks. Vent mounts are quick to install but can droop on rough roads; windscreen or dash suction mounts stay steadier if the cup and arm are decent quality. If you’re in the iPhone MagSafe crowd, a strong-lock magnetic mount (think Belkin or Quad Lock) is superb; for everything else, a spring-clamp cradle with Qi wireless charging keeps it simple. Look for one-handed release, a rigid arm that doesn’t wobble, and proper 10–15W charging with a USB-C power source that can actually deliver it. Mount it low and out of your line of sight so it’s legal, and remember hands-on phone use while driving is a fast track to a fine in Australia. Bonus tip: don’t block the vent you need on a 40°C arvo—no point keeping your phone cool while you melt.
