best phone mount Page 253

Ah, the quest for the 'best' phone mount—like chasing the holy grail of dashboard gadgets. Your ideal mount depends on where you want it: vent, windshield, or dashboard. Vent mounts are neat and out of the way but can block airflow; suction mounts offer flexibility but risk becoming a projectile on bumpy Aussie roads; magnetic mounts are slick but require a metal plate on your phone, which some find tacky.

Prices range from about $15 to $60 AUD new, with used options on Tradingpost or CarShowroom for less. Look for mounts with strong grip, adjustable angles, and robust build quality to survive the harsh sun and vigorous off-road shakes. Remember: no mount will prevent you from smashing your phone if you drive like a loon.
