best ppsr check Page 2

The best PPSR check in Australia is the official PPSR search via the government service, which pulls the same core data everyone else uses and typically costs about $2 AUD.

Third‑party reports (think CarHistory, Equifax, REVS Check) bundle that data with extras like odometer anomaly checks, valuation, and previous sale listings—useful, but you’re paying for packaging, not a different database.

Run the check with the VIN (more reliable than rego) and always save the certificate; it’s your receipt that the car wasn’t stolen, written off, or under finance at the time of search.

If a seller twitches at the word “PPSR,” that’s your cue to jog on; if the report shows finance owing, settle directly with the lender at handover and get it in writing.
