best small offroad caravan Page 6

Chasing the “best small off‑road caravan” is like asking which billy boils fastest—depends on your rig and where you point it. For Aussie tracks, prioritise independent suspension, strong chassis/clearance, proper dust sealing, and at least 200–300Ah lithium with 200–400W solar plus 100–200L water. Keep weight sensible: a small hybrid usually lands around tare 1,400–1,900 kg with ATM 1.8–2.4 tonnes and tow ball 120–200 kg, so your 4WD isn’t wheezing up the range. New prices typically run $45k–$120k, while used examples hover around $25k–$80k depending on spec and scars. Check departure angle, payload (aim for ≥400 kg), stone protection, and that the track width roughly matches your tug. Browse Tradingpost for options, kick the tyres, and then consult official documentation for exact figures.
