The Flinders Ranges put on their wildflower show in late winter to spring, typically August to October, with September the sweet spot after decent winter rain. Good seasons can kick things off as early as late July; dry years nudge the peak into October. Cooler temps and softer light make early spring walks far kinder than a scorchy summer bake-off. Check recent park reports or local stations before you go—the blooms follow rainfall more religiously than a tour bus follows a bakery.
