best used car loan Page 23

Chasing the best used car loan? Start with the comparison rate, not the flashy headline—fees and charges can turn a bargain into a budget blowout.

Secured loans usually cost less than unsecured, shorter terms (3–5 years) save interest, and balloon payments only look pretty until they crash your wallet at the end. Get pre-approval so you know your ceiling in AUD and can haggle harder on the car price. Check credit unions and online lenders as well as the big banks; the sharpest deal often hides in the fine print and the comparison rate. Watch for early payout fees, forced add‑ons, and junk insurance, and keep your credit checks tidy. If the rate sounds too good to be true, it probably is—do the maths, then drive away smarter.
