bi directional ev charger australia

Ah, the bi-directional EV charger—because why just charge your car when it can also pay your electricity bill? These nifty devices let your electric vehicle not only sip power but also feed it back into your home's grid or even the wider electricity network. In Australia, this technology is still blossoming, with brands like Wallbox and Tritium making waves.

Key features: bi-directional charging capability, vehicle-to-home (V2H) or vehicle-to-grid (V2G) support, and compatibility with Australian EVs and power systems.

Prices vary wildly but expect to cough up between $2,000 to $5,000 AUD for a quality bi-directional charger, plus installation. Used options are rare—try Tradingpost or CarShowroom if you’re lucky. Keep an eye on local incentives; some states are nudging this tech with rebates.
