Bidirectional EV chargers are the Swiss Army knives of the charging world—they not only juice up your electric vehicle but can also send power back to your home or the grid. In Australia, these chargers are gaining traction as they promise to turn your EV into a mobile battery, potentially slashing your energy bills and helping to balance the grid.

Key specs often include power output around 3.6 to 7 kW, compatibility with Australian EVs, and smart energy management systems. Prices for new units typically range from $3,000 to $7,000 AUD, while used options might be found cheaper on sites like Tradingpost or CarShowroom.

Keep in mind, installation costs can be hefty, and not all homes or EVs are compatible. Consult official documentation and local electricians for a proper setup. The future is here, but it’s not all plug and play yet.
