bmw fire Page 9

Ah, the dreaded 'BMW fire'—a phrase that sends shivers down the spine of any petrolhead. BMW vehicles, like all cars, have had isolated incidents of fires, often traced back to electrical faults, fuel leaks, or overheating turbochargers. Common culprits include faulty wiring harnesses, turbocharger failures, and occasionally issues with the fuel system.

• Electrical shorts causing sparks
• Turbocharger overheating and oil leaks
• Fuel line deterioration and leaks

Thankfully, these incidents are rare considering BMW's popularity. If you’re hunting for a used BMW, keep an eye on recall notices and have a trusted mechanic inspect the car thoroughly. For more owner reports and service histories, ServiceCentral and Tradingpost are your mates.
