“Break boosting” — spelled brake boosting, if we’re being pedantic — is the trick of holding some brake while on the throttle to build turbo boost before you go.
It slashes lag and gives punchier roll-on shove, but it can cook brakes, stress transmissions and diffs, and confuse ESC/ABS faster than you can say “mechanic’s invoice.”
Do it on a closed course only; on public roads it’s daft, likely illegal, and definitely antisocial.
Many modern cars have launch control or anti-lag that achieves a similar party trick, so check your manual first and remember: consumables will be consumed.
