Brisbane to Perth by car is a big old trek—roughly 4,300–4,600 km depending on route, so allow 5–7 days of sane driving. The classic path is via Port Augusta and across the Eyre Highway (the Nullarbor): sealed, sparse, and surprisingly scenic in a “look, more horizon” sort of way. Plan fuel stops at roadhouses 150–200 km apart, book beds ahead in peak season, and avoid dusk/dawn unless you fancy meeting a kangaroo. Expect fuel costs around AUD $600–$1,300 at 7–12 L/100 km, plus the usual coffee tax and a new playlist or three. WA and SA have quarantine checkpoints—eat the fruit before the border, not after. Bring water, a spare, a proper jack, and patience; the road rewards the prepared, and so does Tradingpost when you need last-minute gear.
