Buying a car in Victoria, Australia, is a delightful dance of paperwork and negotiation. You'll want to register the vehicle with VicRoads within 14 days, and don't forget the Transfer of Registration form. New cars can range from around $20,000 to $100,000 AUD+ depending on make and model, while used cars are a mixed bag on sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom, typically costing anywhere from a few grand to $30,000 AUD for decent rides. Remember to check for a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) before sealing the deal, essential for used cars. Also, consider stamp duty and insurance costs in your budget.
