buying a used car qld Page 174

Buying a used car in Queensland involves more than just picking the shiniest rust bucket. First, check the Personal Property Security Register (PPSR) to ensure it’s not stolen or encumbered. Queensland requires a safety certificate (roadworthy) before registration transfer, so don’t skip this vital step. Price-wise, used cars can range wildly from a few grand for a basic runabout to tens of thousands for late-model rides. Tradingpost and CarShowroom are decent spots to scout listings, but always test drive and get a mechanical inspection. Remember, once you sign, the lemon you bought is yours—buyer beware!
