byd battery vs tesla battery Page 32

When comparing BYD batteries to Tesla batteries, you're basically pitting China's rising giant against the Silicon Valley titan. BYD often uses the Blade Battery, known for its LFP chemistry (lithium iron phosphate), which boasts impressive safety and longevity but generally lower energy density. Tesla, on the other hand, favours high-energy-density lithium-ion cells, like the 2170 and newer 4680 formats, delivering longer range and quicker charging but with a bit more thermal risk.

Pros of BYD Batteries:

• Exceptional safety and thermal stability
• Long lifecycle with minimal degradation
• Lower cost, making EVs more affordable

Pros of Tesla Batteries:

• Higher energy density, leading to longer driving ranges
• Cutting-edge battery tech with rapid charging capabilities
• Extensive global charging infrastructure

Both are impressive in their own right but cater to slightly different priorities: BYD leans towards cost-effectiveness and safety, Tesla prioritises performance and range. For the most accurate and up-to-date specs, consult official manufacturer documentation or trusted automotive sources.
