calculate payment for car Page 8774

To estimate car repayments in Australia, start with the drive-away price, subtract any deposit or trade-in, and that’s your loan amount. Plug that, the annual interest rate, and the term (say 60 months) into a standard loan calculator; repayments follow a boring-but-reliable amortising formula, with optional balloon if you like suspense. Don’t forget on-road costs and fees—stamp duty, rego, CTP, dealer delivery—and use the comparison rate for a fair apples-to-apples view. As a quick pub-test: $35,000 over 5 years at 7.5% lands around $700–$720 per month; at 10% you’re closer to $740–$760. A balloon (e.g., 30%) lowers monthly pain but leaves a chunky lump at the end—fine if you plan ahead, less fine if you don’t. Run a few scenarios before signing and save future you from creative budgeting.
