cameras to detect mobile phone use Page 458

Looking to catch those sneaky mobile phone users red-handed with a camera? There are indeed specialized cameras and systems designed to monitor driver distractions, including mobile phone usage. These devices often use AI-powered video analytics to detect hand-to-ear gestures or the presence of a phone in a driver's hand.

Key features include infrared night vision, real-time alerts, and integration with fleet management software. Prices vary widely—from affordable dashcams with basic detection features around a few hundred AUD to advanced traffic enforcement cameras costing several thousand.

Used options might be found on platforms like Tradingpost or CarShowroom, but beware: legality of such surveillance varies, so check your local laws before installing.
