can a learner driver drive a turbo car qld Page 889

Yes—Learner drivers in Queensland can drive a turbocharged car, provided they follow all L-plate conditions and have a qualified supervisor in the front passenger seat. The high‑powered vehicle restriction targets P1/P2 drivers, not learners, so your Ls aren’t the fun police—your supervisor is. You still need L plates on, 0.00 BAC, and to follow the logbook rules like a saint with a clipboard. Also check insurance—some policies get twitchy when “turbo” and “learner” share the same sentence. If in doubt, confirm with Queensland TMR and your insurer before turning boost into bragging rights.
